8/2020 Update:
The color on this plant is gorgeous. I am debating whether to keep it as a display flower or possibly just leave it for whomever buys this house. The pollen is almost non-existent and it did not set any pods. I don't think it's sterile, but I don't think it has enough positive attributes to justify the effort of breeding.
2024 Update: I figured out part of my problem with breeding this flower. I had it in the wrong bed! Daylilies have varieties with different numbers of chromosomes. To get babies, certain daylilies have to be crossed with similar #s of chromosomes. I plan to attempt crossing this one again with the correct types! It's lovely and I will definitely be keeping it in my garden.
