The story:
My very first trip to a daylily meeting was in Souix City, IA with Micah from Lewis Landscaping Daylilies. I sat next to a delightful man named Lawrence Lacey who brought several of his blooms to show what he had in his garden. I was drawn to several of them.
I had to sit on my hands through the auction. There were so many beautiful plants I wanted to purchase, but I was using caution. Until you see many of them, you don't really know what you want!
During a break, Micah and I chatted with Lawrence and he invited us to see his garden. It wasn't too far out of our way, so we followed him back to a gorgeous residential area where he had a triple lot filled with gorgeous plants. Again, I used restraint, but there were a few plants I wanted. Micah and I will be visiting again next July to see more of his plants in bloom.
This was one of the plants I purchased. It was Lawrence's hybrid. I can't wait to share the picture with you!
